Have an idea for The Next Big Thing? Always wanted to start your own thing, but not sure what the first step is? Join us for an in-depth full day workshop that covers the key steps in getting your ideas off the ground — and what requirements you need for success down the road.
This workshop is designed for aspiring entrepreneurs, those currently involved in a startup, and anybody looking to understand the tools and principles required to develop and implement business strategies.
This all-day bootcamp will teach you the business skills, startup principles and execution requirements get an idea off the ground, acquire customers, monetize, as well as how to pitch effectively to investors.
Additionally, you will be familiar with the business fundamentals to grow out your business including research & analysis, financial modeling, operations, marketing and customer acquisition. The session will encourage critical thinking and address startup principles such as Lean Startup methodology, Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and the importance of understanding your customer early on.
The course is made up of an intense, interactive and hands-on series of modules, with case studies as well as exercises to put the theories into action. It will be a highly tailored and personalised approach.
We will break for lunch from 12:30 - 1:30 pm. Feel free to bring a lunch or leave the campus for a quick lunch nearby.
At the end of this workshop, you will: - Develop a deep understanding of the critical strategic aspects to build and grow your business - Know which business model is a best fit for your idea - Use the Business Model Canvas to map out and innovate your business model - Learn how to conduct analysis to understand your industry and competitive landscape - Use marketing, digital marketing and social media effectively to reach and acquire users - Apply financial modelling to build forecasts and drive business decisions Understand the fund-raising process and how to pitch to investors - Familiariaze yourself with startup principles such as MVP (Minimum Viable Product) and the Lean methodology - Develop the confidence and business skills to move to the next stage

None — creatives, designers, idea people, and "business beginners" are are all welcome!
About the Instructor
A founder and venture capital professional, Nio drives startup strategy for Asia's leading early-stage VC and is deeply integrated into the startup ecosystem.
With degrees in Engineering and Business, he started his career at Apple before building extensive experience as a Management Consultant over six years across Asia and Australia. After co-founding numerous startups, Nio went on to develop a highly profitable business-building boutique which has provided strategic & fundraising support to over one hundred ventures. He holds equity and advisory roles in several high-growth businesses and is a sought-after speaker, educator and mentor.
Having lived in four vastly different countries, Nio speaks five languages (none fluently!) and gets overly excited about sport, philanthropy and technology.
