William Klippgen and Michael Blakey, Co-Founders of Cocoon Capital Partners, a new seed fund investing in scalable digital startups across Southeast Asia would be at the Meet The VCs series to share with you their insights into the difference between raising money from an Angel vs a VC, their tips on early-stage fundraising and what Cocoon looks for in an investment. Both have significant amount of experience as angel investors into various startups as well.

William Klippgen is a Norwegian investor and entrepreneur. He founded Tigris Capital in Singapore in 2003. He is the co-founder of European comparison e-commerce portal Zoomit.com which later merged with Kelkoo.com to become Europe's third largest online shopping destination. Kelkoo was sold to Yahoo! in 2004 and remains one of the most successful European internet stories.
William has been active in the online space since 1995 and had a stint as a core technology engineer with Excite Inc. in Mountain View. Excite was the world's largest internet search engine and used many of the technologies later adopted by Google.
William is also the co-founder of Singapore seed investment fund BAF Spectrum, one of Singapore's accredited business angel funds, and has been a director of BANSEA, the Business Angel Network of South-East Asia. He is a frequent speaker and judge at Singapore business plan competitions at institutions like the National University of Singapore and INSEAD.
Michael Blakey is a serial angel investor and founder of Avonmore Developments. He was named Angel of the year for 2015/15. He has been an active early-stage investor in the UK since 2000, having invested in 21 businesses and realized 3 profitable exits to date. His current investments include Bybox Ltd (1st place in the Deloitte Fast 50 in 2007), Virtual IT (3rd place in the Deloitte Fast 50), Specle and Tagman. He is actively looking for further, early-stage investment opportunities. In 2013, he founded Cub Capital, in Singapore to expand his operations to SE Asia.
