The current climate has provided Hatch an opportunity to explore a new collaborative work using an unconventional but ordinary digital medium; WhatsApp. Over the years, WhatsApp group chats have grown to become a ‘place’ to gather, gossip and share stories much like a digital coffee shop.Keturunan Ruminah (Ruminah’s Family) is a new drama that unfolds entirely through a WhatsApp messaging platform in real time. Audiences are invited to experience Ruminah’s family group chat; the terrible typos, the annoying audio notes or the unnecessary visual stimuli.
