Along the way, Marc will be sharing his own poems, which run the gamut in subject matter; from beards to American television to pan-Asians.A note to Kuching (budding) spoken word artists: This is a fantastic opportunity to work with Marc and ask the questions you want to ask about writing, publishing, performing, traveling, or even about how to maintain a beard! About Marc Nair: Marc Nair is a poet and photographer from Singapore. He has published six volumes of poetry and has been featured in numerous anthologies both print and online.A seasoned poetry slammer, he has performed spoken word for over ten years in more than ten countries and has represented Singapore in international competitions. He is also a founding member of local spoken word troupe, Party Action People.Marc was the 2015 Writer-In-Residence at Gardens by the Bay. A former teacher, Marc enjoys teaching creative writing and photography classes in schools and institutions.Marc is also a musician who sets his poems to music. To date, he has released two spoken word albums with his band, Neon and Wonder. He also collaborates with well-known Singapore musicians such as Bani Haykal, weish and Tim De Cotta.He is the co-founder and principal photographer of Mackerel, a culture magazine.
