Louder than the Room: An Introduction to Spoken Word

Veteran poetry slammer and performance poet Marc Nair takes participants through the basics of what makes a successful slam poem; from the use of imagery, characterisation and poetic voice in writing to transforming the poem into something stage-worthy. Along the way, Marc will be sharing his own poems, which run the gamut in subject matter; from beards to American television to pan-Asians.

A note to Kuching (budding) spoken word artists:
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with Marc and ask the questions you want to ask about writing, publishing, performing, traveling, or even about how to maintain a beard!
