A Little bit of Magic

What would the world be without the light, sparkles and action of magic?

Venture a peak into the world of the fantastical in this mixed vocal recital with tenor Brendan-Keefe Au (Singapore), soprano Ayano Schramm-Kimura (Japan) and pianist Sim Yikai (Singapore). The programme will explore good and bad magic in 5 sub-themes: in the forest, in the waters, in the heavens, in faraway places and in the mundane.

The programme comprises French, German and English songs, including old favourites and rare gems alike. Hear Alban Berg's song-cycle, Seven Early Songs, in its second performance in Singapore. Also hear Schubert's Der Erlkönig, Purcell's Come all ye songsters, Caliban's aria from The Tempest by Lee Hoiby, Dvorak's Song to the Moon, Liza Lehmann's Ah Moon of My Delight, and many others.

Guests will also receive photographer Cynthia Ong-Lamb's latest collection of photographs inspired by magical opera and lieder, which has been specially curated for this concert; and a booklet of poems also inspired by the concert, by Pamela Ng.
