OFC Social Market #5 Yoga 10-11am

Work off the stresses from a week of work with an invigorating yoga class located in a lush tropical garden to strengthen muscles and improve flexibility all at once. Dynamic movements with the breath are combined with static postures to maximise the benefits of the practice. Beginners are welcome!

All proceeds from this class* will go to the Love Kuching Project (http://www.lovekuchingproject.org/), a community-based cat rescue group that focuses on the rehabilitation of ill or injured cats and vulnerable kittens, sterilisation of stray cats as well as adoption and outreach programmes.

As an animal lover with two rescue cats, Karen is deeply inspired by the compassion and love that the volunteers of the Love Kuching Project shower on their charges and hopes to help spread awareness for animal welfare and animal rescue charities.

Bring: A yoga/exercise mat

*Cash donations (recommended minimum $20) will be collected after class and donated directly to the Love Kuching Project. Space is limited, so please reserve your spot here only if you will be able to attend class. Thank you!

About the instructor

Karen first stepped on the mat in 2009 as a way to get fit and de-stress from the pressures of her full time job as a journalist. She was hooked from her first downward dog (even though her spaghetti arms could barely hold her in position) and has never forgotten the sense of wellbeing and achievement she felt after that 60-minute class. She decided to leave her job in 2012 to pursue her passion for yoga by training to be a teacher. She has a 200 hour teacher training certificate in Universal Yoga. Her classes combine dynamic and static strengthening postures with deep stretches and are always infused with a sense of fun and joy. Her greatest yoga inspirations include her teachers Andrey Lappa, Andrei Ram, her pet shiba inu and of course, the students she is blessed to encounter.
