He is a partner at New Zealand based Simmonds Stewart, a boutique technology law firm providing corporate and commercial advice to tech companies and investors across APAC. Lee advises start ups and growth tech companies looking to set up, raise capital and on other corporate and commercial matters across multiple jurisdictions, with a particular focus on SE Asia.Prior to moving to Simmonds Stewart in 2015, Lee spent ten years at a leading international law firm, who are top ranked in the UK for venture capital and technology work. In 2012, Lee moved to Singapore where he was a partner and set up and led the firm’s SE Asian Corporate Technology and Venture Capital practice. He advised several accelerators affiliated with the Singapore National Research Foundation (NRF) TIS and ESVF investment programmes, and was lawyer to VC firms including Rakuten Ventures, Jungle Ventures, NSI, Monkshill Ventures and Golden Gate Ventures Ventures. Lee continues to act for a significant number of growth technology businesses and VC investors in SE Asia. He has advised on approaching 100 seed, series A and larger follow-on financing rounds in the last five years in the region, involving many of Singapore’s most well known start ups.
