Our lives in cities today are far removed from nature, our evolutionary home. We live in technologically-oriented concrete structures that isolate us from the natural world. To rekindle her connection with nature, the filmmaker travels to learn from indigenous people in remote places like Vanuatu and the Amazon region. Through conversations with local guides she discovers a shared sense of nostalgia about their lost connection with nature and learns about the challenges they face today. This experience makes the filmmaker question her own role as a bystander and examine if life in cities is the best representation of what it means to be human in our times.
