As one of the most interesting mangrove rivers in Singapore, Sungei Jelutong is a gem in the heart of rustic Pulau Ubin. Come, join us for a leisurely 1-hour guided self-paddle where our volunteer guides will share interesting facts on the flora and fauna along the river, the importance of our coastal forests, and what we can do to conserve them. This trip is suitable for both adults and children. COST PER PERSON$20 per person (to cover cost of equipment rental and logistics handling)Any proceeds received, will be donated to Nature Society (Singapore) for conservation efforts.DURATIONEach session will last approximately 1.5 hours including safety briefing.Appreciate that you can meet and gather punctually at the indicated time.Do give yourself at least 30 minutes to walk from main jetty to Jelutong Bridge (launching area).Maximum number of participants per trip✅ 16 participants✅ Participants must be 8 years old and above. Participants below 12 years old must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian in the same kayak. In the event of unfavorable weather condition, departure timings may be delayed. WHAT TO BRING?✅ sun protection (hats, long sleeve clothing)✅ sufficient drinking water✅ snacks✅ change of clothes (will get wet!)✅ wear proper covered footwear (strictly NO slippers)IMPORTANT NOTE!!!Please note that there will be NO safe area to leave your bags or personal belongings. Therefore, please be prepared to bring your bags onto the kayaks with you, and waterproof them, as they will get WET.TOILETS✅ Please note that there are NO toilets / changing facilities available at the kayak launching point✅ Toilets are only available at Ubin Village / Main Jetty✅ Please be on time. FAQ! FAQ!Q: Do I need to have kayaking certification such as 1-star to participate? A: No, you don't need to have that but good to be comfortable with water and water-based activities.       Q: Can my child join me if he/she is under 8 years old?A: Sorry, unfortunately we cannot take any participant younger than 8 years old. And if the child is under 12 years old, parent or an adult guardian must accompany the child on the same kayak.           Q: Can we wear slippers for this activity? A: Unfortunately no. Good to wear aqua shoes or at least a pair of sandals with secured backstrap. This is required because the launching area can be steep and uneven with many rocks. Therefore, strictly NO slippers.          Q: Is there any locker for our bags?A: No, there are no safe area to leave your bags. So, it helps to carry a small dry bag or otherwise waterproofed it to bring onboard the kayak. Q: Can we change the names of attendees after tickets have been purchased?A: In the event that you cannot participate in the activity, you may find replacement. Simply email the names and contacts to us and we will attend to your friends who are taking over your slots.
