Petrosains, The Discovery Centre is organizing the Petrosains Celebrates Teachers in conjunction with the National Teacher’s Day 2016 event. It will be held at the Galleria, Petrosains, Suria KLCC on the 14th May 2016. Invited participants include teachers, educators and relevant stakeholders in the Malaysian education landscape. This is one of many initiatives undertaken by the Educators Center, Petrosains. There will be sessions of sharing on best practices in the classroom, science demonstration, and talks by invited speakers on the latest ideas in teaching & learning and pedagogy. The event main objective is to celebrate the teachers who not only play a role in the national development (including cohesion and integration), but also contribute to national development and service to the community. In the program, we plan to share how science centres like Petrosains, as an informal science learning institution, provides our audience with a rich holistic Learning Experience. Through our Learning Approach, we will demonstrate how we support the national education agenda by offering selected content that is relevant to school curriculum, thus assisting students and teachers, and complementing the formal education. The program also aims to foster a sense of professional solidarity and goodwill among teachers by serving as an event for education practitioners to gather and share with each other on best practices and recent ideas in education that can help motivate and give ideas to them for a shift towards better teaching approaches.For further info, please contact Puan Ummu Hani Hamidon at ummuhani.hamidon@petronas.com.my
