He produced Singapore’s first digital film, ‘RETURN TO PONTIANAK’, first HD-feature ‘DIRTY LAUNDRY’ and indie-cult film ‘PERTH’. He began his film journey in script reading and distribution for a film finance company and freelanced in editing and production. Additionally, Juan trained in traditional cel animation and worked in Japanese anime. He also worked in WDA, MDA and U Creative in talent development, quality assessment and outreach. As an educator, Juan teaches filmmaking in NUS-CFA and has taught producing at NTU-ADM Film and NP-FMS-FSV, firmly believing that the next generation of content talent is in producers. He is now attached to Taipan Films developing and producing motion picture content, most recently, with Singapore’s first creature monster film, ‘Circle Line’.********************************************************************Thu, 12 Nov 20207:30 - 8:30pmTheme: Inspiration Amidst ChaosViddsee specially handpicks this year's Juree selection of Covid-19 films in this livestreamTune in: https://youtu.be/_fRtUdls6UY******************************************************************** Fri, 20 Nov 20201 - 2pmTopic: Breaking The Rules with New Storytelling Formats -- Juree EditionWith new video and social sharing platforms trending, how do we define storytelling today? How would an online screening impact premiere status for other festivals? If I agree to do an online screening with a festival, will I be disqualified from other festivals? Would it be better to put a film’s distribution plan on hold/wait until 2021 when things resume? Should I switch careers now that a filmmaking career is less feasible?”Some of the burning questions from film graduates will be answered in this special spotlight with seasoned festival programmers. We invite our jury member, Kiki Fung (programme consultant of HKIFF) and previous jury member, Ben Thompson (senior programmer of Tribeca festival) in addressing the evolving state of festival distribution.Tune in: https://open.spotify.com/show/2a9eiohomfFIwYbHxprR6H?si=4ePKuSEZSIm5LyxKWuLz0A**************************************************************************************************************************************Viddsee Juree Singapore 2020 Awards Ceremony [LIVE]Sat, 21 Nov 20202 - 3pmThe much-awaited results announcements, where the Gold, Silver, Special Mention and Audience Choice Winner will be revealed!Join our virtual awards show to be broadcasted on Viddsee.com and Viddsee's Youtube channelFree entry.
