The 2016 Academy Award Winner for Best Short Subject Documentary narrates the story of an 18–year–old Pakistani girl, Saba, who survives an attempted honor killing by her father and uncle when she falls in love and elopes.The film delves into a tragic reality that continues to brutally oppress women and girls in South Asian countries. Every year, approximately 1000 honor killings, death at the hands of family members for tarnishing their “honor” in society, are recorded in Pakistan.
