The UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation were established in 2000 to recognize and encourage private efforts and public-private initiatives in successfully restoring structures of heritage value in the region.In partnership with URA, selected awardees would be conducting guided tours during the festival for public to understand the architecture and history of the buildings, and the restoration effort behind these buildings.Yueh Hai Ching Temple (AHA & UNESCO awardee) Well known for its richly ornamented roof, vibrant wall reliefs and frescoes outside and within its wall, the Yueh Hai Ching temple built in the 1820s has been faithfully restored to articulate details showing deep respect for the monument's architectural roots. At every turn, this stunning restoration demonstrates thoughtful choices informed by extensive archival research and technical consultation with local and overseas architectural experts and temple craftsmen. The restoration project received the 2014 Architectural Heritage Award and the Award of Merit in the 2014 UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Award.7 & 8 May 2016 10am, 12pm, 2pm
