Moving Digitally - Character

From old to young, animals to the supernatural; it's all possible if you know how to use your body well. This is an opportunity to play with the knowledge you may have gained from a previous Vaults masterclass, while acting as a stand alone experience for those looking to improve their awareness and physicality as an actor in the realm of motion capture.

Performance Capture is closer to theatre acting techniques than those of film and TV. You will learn how to judge size of performance, as well as exploring your natural castability within the motion capture arena. This class uses a mixture of Laban and Lecoq techniques to explore how to approach character physically, or outside-in. You will also learn basic mime/physical-action techniques, so useful in a motion capture environment where props and worlds are often imagined. The beginning or re-awakening of your observing eye.
