Move around the deck with a glass in hand and get to know your fellow voyagers - trust us, wine is more fun with friends! At 7.15pm, shortly after "setting sail", our invited guest wine specialist Ms Akimi Yeo will deliver a short presentation on the wines of the evening, as well as interesting facts and trivia about the regions from which they hail. Thereafter, continue to mingle around and sip on the day's wines, or chat up our team of wine specialists and aficionados present, who will be more than glad to share with you their passion and insights on the wonderful world of wine.Sail with us along the Saone River, past rolling green hills dotted with mustard fields and medieval villages. This is Burgundy, home to some of France's most gorgeous countryside, and the epitome of old-world Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs. Elegance and sophistication are the order of the day here, along with a zesty minerality thanks to the region's limestone-rich soils which date back nearly 200 million years! We will be visiting Domaine Daniel Rion, a family-owned winery with 45 acres of vineyard plantations in the Cote de Nuits and Haute-Cote regions, producing quality wines that very much reflect the taste and tradition of Burgundy. Domaine Daniel Rion Bourgogne Chardonnay 2014Domaine Daniel Rion Pinot Noir 2013As we navigate downstream and head into the Rhone River, experience a change in climate and wine styles. Our next stopover will be in the Southern part of the Rhone region, where the climate takes on a distinct Mediterranean influence and the wines tend towards a more intense, complex style. We will be tasting wines produced by Pierre Henri Morel, a native of the Rhone Valley, made with grapes from the respectable villages of Laudun and Signargues.Pierre Henri Morel Cotes du Rhone Villages Laudun Blanc 2014Pierre Henri Morel Cotes du Rhone Villages Signargues 2014For everyone who wants to experience the diversity of French wines, or who just want a fun evening with good wines, this is certainly a voyage not to be missed! MORE UPCOMING VOYAGES19 May - Chile2 June - France Part I16 June - France Part II7 July - California21 July - Italy4 August - South Africa18 August - Spain1 September - Australia15 September - New Zealand Updates tag:peatix.com,2016-05-29 09:59:58 2016-05-29 09:59:58 The event description was updated.
