Her novel Atmospheric Disturbances won the 2008 William Saroyan International Prize for Fiction. She is also a recipient of a Berlin Prize, a Rona Jaffe Writers’ Award, and a Cullman Center Fellowship at the New York Public Library. Her collection of stories, American Innovations, won the 2014 Danuta Gleed Literary Award from the Writers’ Union of Canada.
