Founders Friday with Shayne Veramallay (DLA Piper Venture Pipeline)

Hello Fam!

This week we have the pleasure of having Shayne Veramallay come and share his journey. (Special thanks to Chad Than for the intro)

Shayne Veramallay is the Global Head and Senior Executive of DLA Piper's Accelerate Advisory Group and Venture Pipeline.

Shayne works with the firm’s emerging growth clients to refine business strategies, manage their fundraising process, and foster growth initiatives through M&A, strategic partnerships, and international expansion. He rapidly analyzes “deal potential” and works with management to take to market by scrutinizing various aspects of their business plans, execution strategies, and financial models. He also works directly with the investment community, including angels, seed, early stage, growth and buyout funds, to align investors’ specific investment criteria with our corresponding deal flow.

Shayne’s background before joining DLA Piper centered around finance and operations. He started out his career on Wall Street as a private equity placement agent for Salomon Smith Barney’s Investment Banking Division. From there, he pursued a career in venture capital, where he was a Principal with NJTC Venture Fund ($100mm early stage fund) and was responsible for investing nearly 60% of the portfolio with a focus on clean tech, advanced materials, life sciences, education, and information technology.

Following his venture tenure, he spent several years on the operating side, including Hycrete, Inc. to head business development and sustainability, iLevel Solutions as Director of Analytics, and JP Morgan as a Senior Business Analyst and Project Lead for FinTech integration into the firm’s Private Equity Alternative Investment Services unit.

Shayne attended Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business (magna cum laude) and studied Finance and International Business. He is an avid cyclist and swimmer and has a deep passion for classic automobiles and motorcycles.

We'll get a chance to hear about his journey, with Q&A and community shout outs afterwards! Also join us for good coffee, good bagels, and excellent conversation.

Until then, stay cool and classy... See you then!
