A contributing editor at The New Republic and editor at large at VQR, he has contributed essays and stories to The New York Times Book Review, Tin House, Slate, Guernica, Out, NPR, and other venues. His honors include a Whiting Award and a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, and he has taught writing at Wesleyan University, the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, and Columbia University.
