this workshop, Mud Rock will give a special demonstration of how the National
Gallery Singapore exhibition candle cups were made, before letting you have a
go at the potter’s wheel to make a simple bowl. While waiting your turn, try
your hand at other pottery techniques like pinching and coiling. Your
creations will be taken back to their studio where they will be fired, beautifully
glazed, and ready for collection two weeks later.
Mud Rock is a ceramic studio based in Singapore, founded by Ng Seok Har
and Michelle Lim., artists and makers of mud and clay. Bonding over a love of beautiful
ceramics that serve people daily, from multiple bowls to a single sculpture,
they find joy in making, exploring and serving with clay. Over the past 10
years, their clients include Wild Rocket, Marina Bay Sands, National Heritage
Board, and the quirky individual.
