Thank you!Are you a changemaker, social worker, advocate or someone who cares about Families or Youths from the lower income communities?COVID-19 has shown the limits of social service agencies and formal organisations. With an outpouring of ordinary citizens and informal groups stepping in to support and care, what might be the future of social services for low-income youths and families? Background:Over the last 3 weeks, A Good Space has been gathering a group of changemakers involved with families and youths in lower-income communities, to discuss the current needs they are observing in their communities, as well as the emerging needs they anticipate post COVID-19. Some really good insights emerged from these discussions around:
What is the role of social service and civil society during a pandemic?
Digital divide faced by children and their families
Social effects on lower income families from COVID-19
And more
The Event:We are hoping to deepen this conversation by organising an online panel discussion, gathering speakers with on-the-ground and policy level experience, to discuss:
How has COVID-19 impacted low-income families and youths?
What are the learnings that are emerging during this period?
What shifts should we create?
What will it take to make these shifts?
We hope this starts a conversation about how social services can evolve post COVID-19 and sparks some ideas for people to imagine projects they can start to support these families and youths.
