Playing on the concept of “work from home”, local authors explore writing as a way to navigate through this unusual time. In this shared space, find your own community of writers and let them inspire you through this isolation. Beginning in July, this second run of workshops will also see Chinese and Malay writing workshops added to the series.Everyone loves funny comics – and, if you cannot get enough, why not draw your own? Practice the basics with Gwee Li Sui, author of well-loved titles such as Who Wants to Buy a Book of Poems?, The Other Merlion and Friends, and Spiaking Singlish. Gwee will guide you on how to express humour, draw silly characters, create a style, and adapt to different formats. There may also be mystery guests showing up to share their wisdom! At least a talent in drawing stick figures is good enough for this fun-filled and surprising workshop. –––Gwee Li Sui is a poet, a graphic artist, and a literary critic.
