They will look for pleasure in movement. With an emphasis on finding connections between the different parts of the body, participants will experiment with materials from the physical and movement realms that animate themselves, and together with the instructor, foray into new territories of expression. The class has components of release technique and improvisation - practices Ravid Abarbanel has worked with in the past years. It focuses on the body, not fancy techniques and showy movements, to create movement that comes from within.2: ###########################################[13 Jun, 7.30pm-9pm]MoDem Language by Fernando Roldan Ferrer (Compagnia Zappalà Danza) (A-P)MoDem is the choreographic language developed by Roberto Zappalà for Compagnia Zappalà Danza. The concept behind the workshop is contained in “Omnia Corpora”, an essay written by the choreographer himself concerning his approach to choreography, notes and principles on the construction of his creations. The most physical part of the laboratory consists of empowering both body and mind through a powerful and muscular work. The choreographer’s language is based on simple criteria: the connection to the flux, and to harmonies that the body develops thanks to a methodology hinged upon group interaction and contamination. Joints and body sections are selected and stimulated through a process aimed at exploring the countless possibilities possessed by the limbs in order to investigate, reimagine, and multiply body’s inner potential. The visceral body is a key element in Zappalà’s work, just like instinct that identifies an apparent imperfection. Instinct and imperfection, together, are added values to movement in the choreographer’s vocabulary.3: ###########################################[14 Jun, 10am-1pm]Butoh Workshop by Nobuyoshi Asai (O)Ex Sankai Juku Butoh dancer, Nobuyoshi Asai will bring participants through a basic of butoh in relation to the body, including the following exercises: – Noguchi Taiso– Walking training / Suri-ashi (shuffling) – Wave movement– Movement initiated by breathing–  gravity– Tension and relaxation– Rhythm exercise 4: ###########################################[14 Jun, 5pm-6.30pm]Exploration of Breath in Choreography by Fabio Liberti (A-P)The aim of this workshop is to share the result of Fabio Liberti's personal movement research and his choreographic practice. Breath will be the starting and threading point throughout the whole practice.
