$1 Million Sponsorship Fundraiser for Syrian Families On the Behalf of Muslim Association of Canada (MAC) we would like to invite you to our flagship event: Embrace Syria Appreciation Gala & Fundraiser on March 18, 2016 at the Mississauga Convention Center.#EmbraceSyria is a countrywide fundraising initiative with the goal to raise $1 million to sponsor 30 Syrian refugee families for one year. The sponsored families are some of the most vulnerable because they hold more children in the family unit. Currently MAC has secured more than half the fundraising target and is on track to raise the remaining amount in the next few months. In the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area MAC currently works together with other Non-for-Profit and interfaith groups to help with resettlement and community integration of Syrian newcomers. MAC is working with community partners and with numerous other accredited Sponsorship Agreement Holders to directly support as many new Syrian families in Canada as possible.
