He has shared the stage supporting comedy heavyweights such as Emo Philips, Arj Barker, Paul Ogata, as well as Hollywood star and “Saturday Night Live” veteran Rob Schneider. Having performed in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, China… and also at the famous Melbourne Comics Lounge, as well as the Sydney Comedy Festival 2013… Jinx is one of the most international comedians to come out of Singapore.Jinx will be touring his 1 hour show at the Perth Fringe and Adelaide Fringe in 2016.RISHI BUDHRANI (SIN)Voted as one of the top 10 comedians in Asia for 2013, Rishi has proved time and again to be an excellent performer. After winning the HK International Comedy Competition, he went on to become the first Singaporean to perform at prestigious clubs like Gotham Comedy Club, The Comic Strip Live in NYC, The Comedy Store in LA & ACME Comedy Club in Minneapolis. Regionally, Rishi has headlined shows in KL, Jakarta, Saigon, Phnom Penh & HK.KAVIN JAYARAM (MAL)One of Malaysia’s most underrated comics, is a rapid-fire grumpy joke telling machine. He may be grouchy but does it with such panache, you can’t help but laugh. He is an integral part of the comedy revolution in Malaysia and a regular host and performer for TimeOut KL Comedy Thursday.Since his first performance start in 2006, Kavin has grown in leaps and bounds and is involved in many major comedy shows and projects. In 2010, he performed in a 15,000 strong St Patrick’s Day celebration with much success and is one of the favourite performers in The Comedy Club KL performing alongside comedians such as Glenn Wool, Pierre Hollins, Vir Das, JJ Whitehead, Chris Wainhouse, Paul Ogata, Sugar Sammy and many more.RIZAL VAN GEYZEL (MAL)Rizal van Geyzel is widely known for his comedic presence that lands somewhere between the profound and the absurd. He has been praised by Malaysian comedy king Harith Iskander as “the future of Malaysian stand-up comedy” as his special brand of humour touches – with gentle and sometimes not-so-gentle jabs – on personal topics as well as observations on Malaysian life.Rizal is a modest yet idealistic young man of Malay, Chinese, Turkish and Dutch descent. His atypical ancestry culminated to make him the most typical Malaysian, which is something he acknowledges and puts to great use in his comedy. His mixed descent and upbringing gives him the insight and perspective to poke fun of the various quirks of multicultural Malaysia, ultimately reminding us that race alone does not define the human spirit. In this vein, Rizal injects an honest form of local humour to the mainstream.JASON LEONG (MAL)In October 2014, Dr Jason Leong became the first Malaysian to win the Annual International Comedy Competition held in Hong Kong where he was also voted Overall Audience Favourite. He won 40,000HKD in cash plus an opportunity to tour the US where Dr. Jason will perform in various comedy shows in Los Angeles, Minneapolis and New York.In 2013, Dr Jason made inroads in corporate comedy. His first major production in collaboration with Pfizer Malaysia called ‘Get H4RD, Stand UP!’ brought together international comics from Singapore, Hong Kong and Philippines. It sold out to maximum capacity at 1350 seats over 3 nights in November.VIVEK MAHBUBANI (HK)Vivek Mahbubani is a Hong Kong-bred bilingual stand-up comedian performing in both Cantonese and English. Having been crowned the Funniest Person (in Chinese) in Hong Kong in 2007 followed by his victory in the English category at the Hong Kong International Comedy Competition in 2008, Vivek has had the opportunity to take his sense of humor all over Asia including Hong Kong, China, Macau, Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and India. When not doing comedy, Vivek is a self-employed web designer running his own business and plays drums for his loud, metal band Eve of Sin. One of Vivek’s passions is reading and his favorite book is Sun Tzu’s Art of War. Oddly, his favorite color is hot pink. The Singapore Comedy Fringe is BACK!
