What is Mindfulness?

"Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way; on purpose, in the present moment, and nonjudgmentally." (Kabat-Zinn,1994)

Mindfulness offers an inside-out approach to managing stress in today’s fast-paced life. It empowers you in letting go of distractions, worries and anxieties, while allowing you to attend to the moment as it unfolds.

The Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program was developed in 1979 by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the Center for Mindfulness, University of Massachusetts Medical School, for clients to manage their chronic symptoms. Mindfulness has since been brought into the contemporary and medical space. MBSR uses mindfulness practices to improve your state of physical and psychological health, and brings about more awareness to your daily living.


In each run, there are 8 weekly sessions, i.e. 15/04 (Fri), 22/04 (Fri), 29/04 (Fri), 6/05 (Fri), 13/05 (Fri), 18/05 (WED), 27/05 (Fri), 03/06 (Fri).

Time: 7-9pm every Wed & Fri

And an all-day silent retreat from 930am to 5pm on 21 May 16 Sat)

All-Day Silent Retreat:
After 6 weeks of the program, the retreat brings together the various practices and content that has been covered, to firmly and effectively establish the use of MBSR skills across multiple situations in your lives. During this retreat, we will practice a number of meditation exercises that has been covered, introduce some new exercises and simply explore the experience of being in a longer period of silence.

Our 8-Week MBSR program offers:

  • Intensive training in mindfulness meditation (E.g. Body Scan, Sitting, Walking and Gentle Yoga)
  • Informal Mindfulness Meditation Practices
  • Daily home assignments, including a minimum of 45 mins of meditation.
  • Individual/group dialogue and inquiry oriented around weekly home assignments
  • Educational and interactive discussions on mindfulness
