This year, we will screen the first short and feature films from an eclectic selection of Singapore filmmakers such as Boo Junfeng, Wee Li Lin and Liao Jiekai. Each night will focus on a different director, giving a unique perspective on each one's creative journey from their first short film to their first feature film. Post-screening discussions will accompany some of these sessions, allowing the audience insight into how these filmmakers have grown in their craft. Till date, three of which have been award winners at the Singapore International Film Festival and two of her shorts have won awards at American Film Festivals. A graduate of Brown University in Rhode Island, USA with a BA in Art Semiotics, Li Lin also spent a semester in Tisch-NYU doing “Sight and Sound”, an intensive filmmaking production course. She also completed her MFA in Dramatic Writing at Tisch Asia on a Media Education Scheme Scholarship. In 2007, she completed and released her first feature film “Gone Shopping” which was critically acclaimed and in 2011, she released her second film “Forever”, which saw a dual festival premiere at Jakarta International Film Festival and Cairo International Film Festival.
