This walk will cover the graves of ordinary people and provide a glimpse of their stories. The tour will draw on stories from a book compiled and written by the community and will feature a stopover at the grave of war hero, Tay Koh Yat, who was instrumental in setting up a people’s voluntary civil defence force before the war and who was a key figure in gathering evidence for the war tribunal conducted after the war.This tour is led by Fabian Tee of All Things Bukit Brown.The tour will be held at Bukit Brown. About The Guide and All Things Bukit BrownFabian is one of the volunteer guides conducting free heritage tours in Bukit Brown cemetery and his tours cover various topics from revolutionaries, to crazy rich Asians, to war themes. He is bilingual and conducts tours in both English and Mandarin.All Things Bukit Brown is a group of volunteers who record the heritage, habitat and history of Bukit Brown and its surrounding area, and the history of Singapore between 1833 and 1973, covering the first burial to the closing date of the cemetery.Timeslots Available (16th Feb 2020): 9.00am - 11.30am NOTE: This tour is strictly on a first come, first serve basis.  Please ensure that you are appropriately attired for outdoor trekking as a fair amount of walking is involved.
