Overview At July 2015, MaGIC Academy launched 8 part time programmes focusing on iOS, Android, Data Science, Analytics, Front End, Visual Design, UX & Digital Marketing. We have conducted the Analytics course together with DreamCatcher and have recently completed the 1st batch. This networking session is designed to connect potential Analytics Course participants with the recent participants of the MaGIC Analytics course. Participants will demonstrate real-world examples covering the whole data analytics processes from collecting, cleaning and analyzing data from multiple sources such as the web and a relational or non-relational database. Attendees interested in registering for the next intake starting in February 2016 are encouraged to attend and learn from the course organizers and instructors. Our guest presenter for the evening, Dr Goh Yong Kheng will give a talk about Data Analytics Vs Data Science. Subsequently, he obtained his Ph.D. in Mathematics from the Imperial College London, U.K. in 2003, under the supervision of Dr. Roy Jacobs. He was also the system administrator for the SGI-Irix systems at the Propagation and Remote Sensing Lab at the University of Essex. He joined the Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman in April 2005. He is also a Novell Certified Linux Professional for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10. Dr. Goh started his education career in 1999 tutoring Engineering Mathematics in Universiti Putra Malaysia. He also taught programming languages and conducted seminars related to programming languages and type-setting software, including MATLAB, Python, Maxima, Fortran, Latex, as well as workshop in openSUSE Linux operating system. His interest is in the areas of applied mathematics, statistical mechanics, bioinformatics, computational physics, and GPU programming.
