This workshop helps demystify such contracts and provide the artiste with tools to navigate through negotiating and concluding a contract that is clear and fair to the parties. We will start off with the rationale and expectations of the engagement. This forms the foundation of the contract and sets the direction of the negotiations. We will then discuss the tools that would assist us in negotiating and concluding a contract. This will be then be followed by a discussion on the key points that need to be in a contract. A Q&A session will then follow. The workshop is intended to be interactive where participants are free to provide their thoughts and questions on the point being discussed. It would greatly enrich the discussion if participants are prepared with their queries before coming for the workshop.About the TrainerRoland is a Partner at the law firm of Low Yeap Toh & Goon LLP. He was involved in the Arts in his university days and beyond, taking on the roles of actor, soundman and stage manager in various productions. He knows that legal jargon, especially in contracts, can be confusing. Hoping that his legal training and involvement in the Arts could come in useful, he tries to demystify contracts to those who would listen to him, making contracts more understandable and manageable to those in the Arts.Level Up!
