In our second installment of our masterclass series, we are honoured to have the great Pete Lockett to share with us ways to expand rhythmic vocabulary on the drumset. Award winning musician Pete Lockett is one of the most versatile and prolific percussionists in the World. His percussive skills cover percussion from every corner of the globe and he has worked with Björk, Peter Gabriel, Robert Plant, Dido, Bill Bruford, Hariprasad Chaurasia, Jeff Beck, The Verve, Texas, Primal Scream,  Damien Rice, Jarvis Cocker, Craig Armstrong, and many more!   Pete arranged and recorded all the ethnic percussion for five 007 ‘Bond’ films and many other Hollywood blockbusters.   He has released more than twenty CD’s under his own name. He also released a best selling percussion app for iDevices. DrumJam was released in 2012. He also released his first full-length novel ‘A Survivor’s Guide To Eternity’ in 2014. Pete endorses Remo heads, LP percussion, Sabian cymbals, DW drums, Vic Firth sticks and ATV aFrame.Pete Lockett’s clinic / performance is an incredibly dynamic, entertaining, virtuosic and informative showcase of drumming and percussion from every part of the globe. Using a system of “partitions,” he challenges you to take rhythmic cells and expand them in various ways, including changing voicings on the kit, rhythmic modulation, phrase development and more. This system presents a nearly infinite number of combinations to inspire your creativity and ability.
