Scroll down or click "read more" at the bottom of the page for instructions to get to Bukit Brown Seldom visited, but not forgotten.  Hill 4 requires a trek to get to, but holds yet more stories and histories of Singapore you might not know of.  Bukit Brown is definitely more than just a place of stones and bones, but access to from the meeting point has been difficult.  Till now - when one of the passageways has re-opened, this time not as a bridge but as a passageway under the highway.Come join Darren on a tour of Bukit Brown that will introduce you to the history and heritage found in those graves. Listen to the story a grave itself reveals - even before we read a word off the tombstone. Learn how many different calendars exist. Listen to the lives of people - from coolies to bankers, from landlords to war heroes. Amid the towering trees and chirping birds, you might even spot a horse or two sharing the paths of history.Bukit Brown - there's more than meets the eye... Take Buses 52, 74, 165, 852, 855. Alight 6 stops later at bus-stop, #41169, Before Kheam Hock Road, which is just before an overhead pedestrian bridge. When you descend from the bus, turn right and walk towards Kheam Hock Road, at the junction with Kheam Hock turn left and you will see Lorong Halwa- which is a road AFTER the bus stop #41169, Before Kheam Hock RoadFrom South: Go to Farrer Road MRT and walk to bus-stop #11111 at Farrer Road, in front of Blocks 2 & 3. Take Buses 93, 165, 852, 855. Alight 5 stops later at bus-stop, #41161, Aft Kheam Hock Road. There is a pedestrian bridge you can cross over the new Lornie Highway. Head for the pedestrian walkway and head towards Kheam Hock Road (when you get down from the walkway, turn right and right again for the path). Follow the road until you see Lorong Halwa - which is a road AFTER the bus stop #41169, Before Kheam Hock Road.From Botanic Gardens MRT - Walk out to Botanic Gardens Station bus-stop #41021 on Bukit Timah Road. Take Buses 151, 156 or 170A for 2 stops till Coronation Plaza. Cross over the overhead bridge to the bus-stop Opp Coronation Plaza bus-stop #41049 on Dunearn Road. Take Buses 74, 157, 852 for 3 stops and alight at bus-stop #41161, Aft Kheam Hock Road. There is a pedestrian bridge you can cross over the new Lornie Highway. Head for the pedestrian walkway and head towards Kheam Hock Road (when you get down from the walkway, turn right and right again for the path). Follow the road until you see Lorong Halwa - which is a road AFTER the bus stop #41169, Before Kheam Hock Road.By carTHERE IS NO LONGER ACCESS TO BUKIT BROWN FROM BUKIT TIMAH/DUNEARN ROAD/KHEAM HOCK ROAD. Google Maps is updated for the routes to get to Bukit Brown Cemetery. USE GOOGLE MAPS NAVIGATIONIf you are driving and are coming from North of Bukit Brown, take the new Lornie Highway.  Once you see Bus Stop #41169 Before Kheam Hock Road, just before an overhead pedestrian bridge,  turn left into Kheam Hock Road and IMMEDIATELY left into Lorong Halwa. Drive past the gates until you see a concerte platform on your right.  The turn for Kheam Hock Road is directly under the pedestrian bridge!If you are driving and are coming from the South of Bukit Brown, take Exit 20B on the PIE, and keep right to get onto Lornie Road. Once you are on Lornie Road, keep right and travel past SICC and make a U-turn to come up the other side of Lornie Road, heading back towards Farrer Road. Keep Right. DO NOT turn into the road marked "Sime Road / Bukit Brown Cemetery". You will now enter the Sime Road Underpass. Keep left on the underpass, and take the left fork for PIE. (Do NOT turn right into the fork that says Kheam Hock Raod).Once you emerge from the underpass, you will be brought to the Southbound Lornie Highway. Keep left, and at the bus stop #41169 Before Kheam Hock Road,  turn left and immediately left again into Lorong Halwa. Drive past the gates until you see a concrete platform on your right.  The left turn you need is immediately under the pedestrian bridge.Parking is limited along the roadside near the meeting point. The meeting point is at the platform at the start of Block 1. Try to use public transport to get there.
