ARCHIFEST 2019 | MINDFUL SPATIAL EXPERIENCING
- Anja Humljan
How can we uncover the sensorial side of architecture? What is the relationship between the human body and tactile space?
The sensuous body is an essential prerequisite to our perception and understanding of spaces. Often neglected in the experience of architecture, the body and its senses are an important means of cultivating spatial sensibility. Join Anja, a Europe-based architectural designer, in an enlivening session reconnecting you with the environment. Participants will train their sensorial, mind and body awareness, expanding tactile curiosity towards their surroundings.
Anja has been commissioned by city councils, universities and architectural festivals globally to introduce a combination of tools and techniques that allow participants to mindfully touch, smell, hear and experience cities anew.
In collaboration with National Gallery Singapore, participants to the MSE workshop will enjoy an exclusive docent-led Building Highlights tour* post workshop, and a complimentary General Admission ticket* to National Gallery Singapore that allows access to all ongoing exhibitions, including the Listening to Architecture exhibition which traces the journey of the City Hall and former Supreme Court buildings, from the origins of their sites to their dramatic transformation into National Gallery Singapore. For more information on ongoing exhibitions, visit National Gallery Singapore!
* General Admission ticket to National Gallery is valid for same day entry only. The Building Highlights tour will commence 12.15pm-1.15pm.
