You may have seen moss in Japan, but do you know anything about moss? You will learn about moss with the specialist at the moss studio he owns.
After the lecture, you will create a moss terrarium, a miniature world of moss you can take home to enjoy! You will learn how to take care of moss at home as well. *Please understand that the moss terrarium is not allowed to take outside of Japan due to the plant protection law. We recommend this workshop to residents in Japan. Limited to 9 seats. 国歌の中で「苔」が歌われているのは世界中で日本だけではないでしょうか？苔の生育に適した環境日本。皆さんは苔、についてどのくらいご存知ですか？このワークショップでは、鎌倉で苔むすびを運営する苔博士・園田純寛さんに苔についてのミニレクチャーの後、苔テラリウム（ミニ苔盆栽のようなイメージ）を作ります。自宅や仕事場のデスクの上に置けば小さなオアシス！もちろん育て方もお知らせします。英語クラスサポート付きクラスですが、先生は日本人です。苔に興味のある外国人のお友達とも是非ご参加下さい。(9 席限定）

About the Instructor:Suihiro Sonoda
Researched the ecology of plants, including moss and their relationship to microorganisms. Went independent after working in R&D for a manufacturer. Started “Koke Musubi” (“Moss Weaving”) in 2016. Studied with Minoru Takeda, a noted researcher of applied science and industrial uses of moss, borrowing his goal of making “moss useful to human society, and thereby forming a closer connection with moss.” Designs gardens, creates interior decor using moss, and works to raise awareness of endangered sphagnum moss wetlands. M.S. in Agriculture from Hokkaido University

Cancellation Policy:
No refund available 2 days prior to the experience due to preparation.Please note that cancellation fees will be charged according to the regulation by Peatix.Each class has a minimum of 5 participants.
