PIGMENT official website : English PageRyo-shi is a paper mainly for writing. It is said that the origin of Ryo-shi is a colored paper imported from China that was used for scripture. Ryo-shi , simply a dyed paper in Nara period, were sublimated into gorgeous decorative paper in the late Heian period. Although Ryo-shi is just a paper for writing, and it only serves as a background of the writings, “the aesthetics of finding values out of the use of the things” adds stories in details, which is why it has been familiar with people up until now.In this workshop, you will make your original Ryo-shi by cutting out the paper pattern and decorating with gold, silver and pearls.We would like you to utilize this paper as a message card for your valued friends, paper for writing down your memories, or as a daily-use paper.
