It is an event that will be held in multiple parts of Malaysia throughout the entire month of October 2019.The concept of this festival is to provide a space for established writers, aspiring authors and readers to meet and share their love for all kinds of written works.#MYWritersFest2019 will kick of their month long festival with a launch event happening at Intermark KL on 16th September 2019 at 2.00pm. The event will begin with a special mass book launch of written works by a number of writers who has published their books but have not been given the chance to launch their books.It will then be followed by a session of reading and poetry performances by the writers of the books being launched as well as special guest performers. There will also be an opening speech for #MyWritersFest2019 followed by a media conference to announce the full programme for the month long festival.In celebration of the upcoming launch on #MYWritersFest2019, there are various activities planned on at InterART 313 Room, level 3 The Intermark Mall from 19th August – 16 September 2019 as per below.1.Book exchange corner – The mission of the book exchange corner is to promote literacy and the love of reading by offering a free book exchange. After all, books were built to be swapped (and read, of course). Anyone can come along and swap or share a book to read. People are encouraged to take a book, and in return, it’s requested that you leave one in its place. This innovative little library can be found on Level 3, The Intermark Mall. 2.#EnglishSpeakEasy interactive activity in conjunction with The Language House, Malaysia – An engaging edu-activity curated by the language teachers of The Language House to encourage and instill the love of the English language from 19th August – 16September 2019:a. Know your English Wall Scrabble activitiesTest your language skills with our interactive wall-scrabble board. Join in the fun and see what the wall says every week.b. A Mental Health Expressions of Feelings Butterfly WallThe goal is to create share feelings and espressions on post-it notes to create a colourful, expressive wall butterfly. Take a selfie of it and help increase mental health awareness on social media.c. Our Environmental Flower WallShare your thoughts on how we can save the environment by filling up our Wall Flower with words and actions of encouragement. The flower will bloom once all the petals are filled with answers!Participation is free and open to all ages from 6yo-adults from 10am-10pm. Visit us and leave your mark of expression with #MYWritersFest2019!About the OrganisersMalaysian Writers Society also known as MYWriters are the organisers of the #MYWritersFest.It began as a community group where people are able to come together and talk about writing. It is a safe space open discussion among people in the Malaysian writing community. In 2016, the society was established in order to facilitate activities and programmes related to writing and publishing in Malaysia.Among the programmes organised by them are #MYWritersRetreat, MYWritersEvents and #MYWritersGathering as well as other online activities. MyWriters is an inclusive and non-profit initiative that aims to provide a platform to Malaysian writers regardless of genre, language, function, medium, and experience levels.
