An Islamic arts specialist, with a focus on the 16th and 17th century paintings, architecture and textiles of South Asia, her position at the Aga Khan Museum involves engaging with artists from regions with large Muslim populations - particularly regions in South and Southeast Asia. She has published multiple essays on the architectural, textile, and painting traditions of the Deccan as well as writing extensively on South Asian art for numerous academic publications. Sardar works to educate different cultures about Asian art, recognising the importance of telling the story behind the art object. She hopes to continue pushing for widespread education of Asian and Islamic around the globe. ZAHRA KHAN, Curator, South Asian Art  Khan a graduate of University of Pennsylvania with a Masters from School of Oriental and African Studies, London. She is the curator of inaugural ‘Pavilion of Pakistan’ with extensive experience within the art institutions and art galleries. She is most notably the Director of Foundation art Divvy, founded in 2017. The foundation aims to promote contemporary art from Pakistan and curated the exhibition: I, too, am part of this history at the Fakir Khana Museum, which was the first time that the museum had ever embraced contemporary art. She aims to create a greater appreciation of Pakistani art, believing that Pakistan has some of the most cutting edge and exciting contemporary art. KARIN OEN, Deputy Director of Curatorial Programmes, Nanyang Technological University Centre for Contemporary Art in Singapore Oen’s curatorial practice spans the art and architecture of the nineteenth, twentieth and twenty-first centuries, where she deeply engages with the intersection of art, technology and culture. Prior to her position at the NTU CCA, she was the Associate Curator of Contemporary Art, Asian Art Museum, San Francisco, where she was involved with projects such as Liu Jianjua’s 2016 installation Collected Letters. Whilst at the Asian Art Museum, she greatly expanded on the museum’s collection of new media, feminist artists and works by the Asian diaspora. Her current projects include a series of sculptural installations in conjunction with the Asian Art Museum as well as working the Japanese ultra-technologist collective, teamLad, on their first major catalogue and museum exhibition in the United States.
