We are curating a series of 'Ideas Worth Discussing' TEDx salon events around important and inspiring themes. This National Day month we kick off with the theme: "So As To Achieve Happiness". Why? Everyday and everywhere across the island, we make this pledge. Yet, how much time and effort do we spend to be happy? How can we be happier in life and work? Do you want your children to be happier? Do we really understand what happiness is? and many more questions. Join us for an afternoon of Happiness featuring a 100% community-created Museum of Happiness, a community discussion facilitated by the I'al Association of Facilitators, a multi-disciplinary panel of experts on happiness, readings by Singapore poets, a pop-up booktique, connections, conversations, and community... This event is dedicated to the late Teresa Hsu who at 113-years young, spoke at TEDxSingapore in 2010. PANEL CONVERSATIONALISTSDR. CHRISTOPHER CHEOK President, Singapore Psychiatric Association, former vice-chairman of the medical board at the Institute of Mental Health, former Head of Psychological Medicine, Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, and author of Achieving Happiness in Singapore. YEO SHA-EN founder of Happiness Scientists, who has trained more than 10,000 people in schools and organizations in the research and practice of Positive Psychology, and is a former primary school educator. ANGELA NG is a human-experience designer who believes in designing a happy life for ourselves. She has spent 20 years in media and marketing industry and has found her Ikigai by moving from Design for Consumerism to Design for Well-being. DEBORAH PETERSON a catalyst and facilitator of individual and organizational transformation through engaging the hearts and minds to focus on who they are and connect that to their life and work, and a TEDxSingapore speaker in 2010. TEDxSingapore POETSDR. GWEE LI SUI poet, literary critic, and a graphic artist, he wrote Singapore's first full-length comic-book novel, and published a volume of humorous verse, Who Wants to Buy a Book of Poems? He spoke at TEDxSingapore 2015ZAKIR HUSSAIN KHOKHON two-time first prize winner of the Migrant Workers Poetry Competition in 2014 and 2015, and a serial social entrepreneur who shared his poetry at TEDxSingapore 2015Featuring BOOKTIQUE our favourite pop-up independent bookstore founded in 2013 and curated by booklover Anthony Koh Waugh. *More program details will be given to all ticket holders.
