Bugis to Bras Basah is a walking tour that invites you to on a cosy, hands-on tour of the neighbourhoods. From malls to churches, from conserved schools to rebuilt buildings, rediscover Victoria Street, Middle Road, Queen Street and Waterloo Street. As part of the tour, discuss projects designed by award-winning, homegrown architecture practices WOHA and SCDA.Please read these important notes:We meet at the fountain at Bugis Junction mall.Pre-registration is required. Please do not just show up. You can register for yourself and a partner/friend.Out of respect for people who are punctual, we do not wait for latecomers.The tour is completely free. The walk is suitable for anyone interested in learning more about street art, heritage, conservation and how Singapore is evolving.What do you mean by an 'interactive' walk?The walk is designed as a dialogue instead of only the walk leader talking. People who joined past walks gain most when they engage with questions and answers.Are the walks aimed at tourists?Not at all, the walks are designed for the general public, including residents. I hope that even people who live, work or play in the neighbourhood can join the walk and discover something new.Why Bugis?It is a lively neighbourhood where people still eat, pray, live and learn. There's so much to see and talk about within two hours of exploring.How physically demanding is the walk?The walk runs for approximately 1.5 hours. Most of the time is spent walking or standing. The route is generally flat, wide, straight and along quieter streets. The route appears mostly accessible for wheelchairs and prams, but we recommend you contact us to find out more.
