Description

Your Tour:

Come discover deep Kamakura! Join a 3.5-hour tour with local guide, Marian. She will pick you up at JR Kamakura Station and take you to a little matcha cafe next to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu, Yufutei. This tour includes a 2-hour-long Goshuincho making experience with a craft artist, Miwa including matcha tea time.

Goshuincho is a book of special seals collected as proof of having visited a temple or shrine. After making your Goshuincho, you will move to the tatami room where you will learn the proper manners for receiving seals at temples and shrines while enjoying matcha tea and wagashi served by the tea master. The tour ends with a visit to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine where you may receive your first Goshuin stamp. *The book can also be used as a diary or scrapbook. This tour starts and ends at the East Exit of JR Kamakura Station.

Marian likes to think of herself as a “Japan concierge,” resolving language and cultural issues, introducing her favorite aspects of the country, and generally helping people enjoy their stay.
