ELVA LUTZA duo (Sardigna) ESTER FORMOSA (Catalunya) RENAT SETTE (Provença) LIMBAS is an original production that blends some of the most fascinating voices from the “Nations without a State” of South-West Europe: Sardinia, Catalonia, and Provence. Protagonists of the musical journey are Ester Formosa, singer/actress, daughter of the most famous Catalan poet Feliu Formosa; the vocalist Renat Sette from Nizza, considered by the French press as the last heir of the millenarian tradition of “Provençal troubadour” in langue d’oc; and the Sardinian duo Elva Lutza, a novelty in the Italian folk scene led by the generous voice and trumpet of Nico Casu and the refined guitar of Gianluca Dessì, also the artistic director of the concert. This international ensemble offers a performance conceived as a musical journey through the traditions and contemporaneity of three distinctive universes, connected by the harmony of diversity and familiarity of their respective cultures facing the same corner of the Mediterranean sea. The ensemble achieves a surprising progression of captivating rhymes, enjoyable lullabies, and compelling work-and-dance tunes and explores the many traditional variations beyond musical genres.
