As homage to Death of a Stone Cell, the film is structured into ten segments; each led by the first lines of the first ten stanza of the poem. Correspondences between the poet and his friends are incorporated throughout, taking the audience back and forth between Lo Fu's youth and middle age, only to eventually depict a full picture of the protagonist. The camera follows Lo Fu on his trips back to the bomb shelter and tunnel in Kinmen and his hometown Hengyang in Hunan Province of China, while also capturing his daily life in his adopted country of Canada. Acclaimed as the Wizard of Poetry, Lo Fu shares through the film some of the most insightful reflections on and honest realizations about his life, in both his most productive and quieter years.詩人步入一黝黑甬道,石室中微光閃爍,令人如何想像,六十年前此處砲火隆隆?1959年,洛夫在金門戰火硝煙中,開始寫作《石室之死亡》,在後來的六十年,這首超現實主義代表詩作掀起台灣文壇風起雲湧。2000年,創作三千行長詩《漂木》,打開華人詩壇長詩的歷史新頁。將屆70年的創作生涯,洛夫一再突破既有格局,試煉意象的魔境。 本片試以「詩與戰爭」切入主軸,佐以《石室之死亡》「一首詩十行」的詩體例,以《石室》前十首詩句選段,構成全片詩意綱領;同時引用洛夫與友人書信,交叉呈現其青年、中年時代畫像。團隊追隨洛夫重訪金門坑道石室、回到湖南衡陽的鄉愁現場,更記錄移民加拿大後的洛夫生活家常。「詩魔」的飛揚與沉潛,俱在其中。 Trailer: River Without Banks   About Lo Fu 洛夫 (1928-)Born in China’s Hunan Province as Mo Lo-fu, Lo Fu moved to Taiwan in 1949, where he later received his BA in English from Tamkang University. He served for several years in the marines in various positions, including English secretary, military translator and interpreter and liaison officer, until he eventually retired as a commander. Before Taiwan, Lo Fu had started writing and publishing poetry at young age in Hunan. In 1954, five years after arriving in Taiwan, he co-founded the Epoch Poetry Quarterly with Zhang Mo, where Ya Hsien joined later. Their publication, the Epoch Poetry Quarterly, became one of the three most important poetry journals in Taiwan during that time, sharing the same reputation with the Blue Stars Poetry Quarterly and the Modernist Poetry Monthly. For sixty years, the Epoch Poetry Quarterly was where modernist poets chose to publish their works. Today, it continues to be revered as a legendary publication in the history of Chinese modernist poetry. Making his debut as a poet at 18, Lo Fu has never stopped writing and continued to strive for new styles and possibilities of poetry. His devotion has helped him to accumulate an oeuvre of numerous iconic works. In recent years, his works have shifted from his trademark magic surrealism style towards an approach inspired by Zen. Clarity and simplicity replaced the rhetoric and complexity. In his latest poems, one finds surrealism of the West gracefully merged with the Zen of the Eastern philosophy, transcending into a new realm of creative writing. 本名莫洛夫,湖南衡陽人,1949年來台,畢業於淡江大學英文系。在海軍服役多年,歷任參謀、聯絡官、特等編譯官、英文秘書等。洛夫詩思啟發甚早,在湖南時已經在報刊發表新詩。來台後,1954年與張默組成「創世紀」詩社,發行同名詩刊(瘂弦之後加入),與《藍星》、《現代詩》三足鼎立,打造跨越60年的現代詩發表基地,也成為華人現代詩壇的傳奇。 洛夫從18歲起公開發表詩作迄今,從未停止詩創作,不斷嘗試、創新現代詩體例,代表作不勝枚舉。近年來,詩風由「魔」入「禪」,以凝練駕馭繁蕪,通過詩,將西方超現實主義與東方禪宗思想貫通,開闢嶄新境界。
