We’ve discovered chemical elements, won Nobel prizes and blown a fair few things up along the way. From inventing the modern electric world, to using x-rays to see through atoms, we’ve constantly been at the forefront of technological advances, using demonstrations to help everyone understand what’s going on. Join us, as we delve into this fire-filled past, pulling out our most interesting, most loved and most explosive demonstrations as we search for the Greatest Experiment in the World… Ever!Natasha Simons is passionate about inspiring people to explore science, engineering and technology: as a demo-builder she develops exciting demonstrations to draw in her audience and as a presenter brings humour, intrigue and fun to her shows. Natasha studied Materials Science and loves to understand how things work. She has written and delivered science shows for the Science Museum and Royal Institution and has  developed and built demonstrations for the Royal Institution's Christmas Lectures. Her adventures include building a Rube Goldberg machine that ran all around the Royal Institution, ushering a menagerie of farm animals into a lift and igniting over 1000 flammable balloons in the name of science.Sarah-Jane Judge is a science communicator, education researcher, communications lecturer and stand-up comedian hailing from Glasgow. She has a passion for the natural world, holding a degree in Marine Biology. She also holds a masters in Ecotourism, and during her undergraduate studies established a long-running turtle conservation project in the West Indies. Sarah-Jane has been a science presenter for the Ri since 2015, which has helped fund her PhD studies into how social factors may be influencing children’s school trips to informal science learning venues. She has worked in science engagement for over 15 years, for organisations such as the British Council, the BBC and Café Scientifique, and has a real passion for travel, visiting over 40 countries including living and working in Australia, Tobago and the USA. She believes she may have been the first science communicator with her own chauffeur-driven plane! In her free time she enjoys scuba diving, cooking and taking her French bulldogs out for long walks in the Scottish rain, sun and snow (often in the same trip!).
