In July, we will feature kids friendly, summer fun activity - Paper Dyed Ceramic Art with Naomi Tsukamoto Kitamura.You will decorate a ceramic plate with a special ceramic decorating technique called washizome 和紙染 (washi dyeing).After the pottery decorating, we will invite you to enjoy the atmosphere and reflect on yourself with handmade Japanese wagashi sweets and green tea prepared by a local wagashi artist, 空羽〜kuu〜. We will fire the pottery and send you your work about a month later (shipping cost is additional). Kids 6 and above are welcome! Kids 6 and above are welcome!  About the Instructors: Naomi (Ceramics Artist)- Returning to Japan after living abroad for over a decade, she was reawakened by the beauty of Japanese nature & culture, and would like more people to have a chance to experience it where it still remains, in Kamakura. She is bilingual (Japanese & English) and have been an instructor for more than 15 years. She is thrilled to meet you through pottery making.  We will serve you handmade Wagashi prepared by my friend and wagashi artist, Kiyo a certified cook and medicinal cooking advisor.  She has been catering for a traditional Japanese delicatessen as well as teaching Japanese sweets making and serving tea for over 8 years. The Fee Includes: Pottery Decorating Experience  (approx. 60 min.)  Explanation of Wagashi by the artist and teatime (approx. 30 min.) Handmade wagashi (Japanese sweets)and tea Please Bring: A hand towel  Eligibility: 6+ Years Important Notes: It will take about 1 month to fire and dry your pieces. Please note that shipping cost is additional, which we ask you to pay by cash when we meet.   Please use public transportation if possible. We have no free parking for our customers. Paid lots are available along the main street.  Please understand that this area gets poor cell reception Access: Our studio is a 15-minute walk from Kita-Kamakura station. At the end of a narrow path leading from Jochiji Temple, you will find a small old Japanese folk house standing alone on more than an acre of land. This is a unique place, a plot between the hills that was cultivated during the Kamakura Era (12-13 Centuries A.D.) and now features an old ceramic wood-fired kiln and a deep well. It is a place of deep history and rich, living culture. Cancellation Policy: No refund available 2 days prior to the experience due to preparation.  Please note that cancellation fees will be charged according to the regulation by Peatix. Each class has a minimum of 2 participants. The class will be canceled 3 days (72 hours) prior to the date if there are not at least 2 participants signed up. Our Studio is in the forested valley of Jochiji Temple. 緑に囲まれた浄智寺谷戸の佇む古民家での体験です Cut thin paper into the shapes you like and place them on the plate. 素の皿に好きな形に切った薄い紙を乗せます You will paint on the paper. その上から好きな色を塗っていきます Peel off the paper from the plate, and just the colors will penetrate into the plate. 紙を取り除くと、色だけがお皿に残ります The sample before firing. 仕上がりはこんな感じです（焼き上がり前） You will enjoy seasonal handmade wagashi by our local wagashi artist.  デコレーションのあとは、季節を映し出した和菓子。五感を使ってお楽しみください （和訳）「和紙染で菓子皿をデコレーションしよう」＠北鎌倉たからの庭！ ぐるりと緑に囲まれた北鎌倉浄智寺谷戸。陶芸の薪窯や底深い井戸もある希有な環境の中に佇む古民家で夏の絵付け体験。今回は陶芸家、 Naomi Tsukamoto Kitamura さんと気軽に親子で参加していただけるお菓子皿への絵付け体験。和紙をお好きな形に切り取っていただき、和紙染という日本ならではの陶芸の彩色技法を使ってお菓子皿に絵付をしていきます。絵が苦手でも大丈夫！６歳ー１２歳までは子供料金もあります晴れていれば緑の中のお庭で、地元和菓子作家 空羽〜kuu〜 さんの作った季節ならではの手作り和菓子と冷たい緑茶で、まったり自分時間。作品は乾燥して焼き上げ発送いたします（送料別）。お手元に届くのは約１ヶ月後。忘れた頃にやってくるご自分へのプレゼントです。英語クラスですがペラペラでなくても大歓迎。外国人のご友人とも是非ご参加ください。 講師:  北村 直美 （陶芸）：花と陶芸のアトリエ、キタムラプランツ＆ポタリー（株）を夫婦で主宰。15年のアメリカ生活を経て2010年の立ち上げ当初より北鎌倉のたからの窯にて英語クラスを担当。芸術を通しての異文化間理解を専門として在米時代より様々なアートプログラムを企画実施、現在もアトリエのある秦野で外国つながりの子供たちのサポートにも携わっている。米国の陶芸雑誌Ceramics Monthlyライター。 空羽〜kuu〜　久保貴代（創作和菓子）： 和菓子作りの技術を 鎌倉手毬 御園井裕子先生に師事。アシスタント、講師を経て2016年卒業、その後は鎌倉を拠点に野菜作りの勉強も始め 季節の野菜を使ったお食事と 創作和菓子をイベント、ワークショップなどで提供。   こちらで提供させていただくもの:北鎌倉古民家アトリエでの菓子皿絵付体験（約６０分）和菓子作家季節のお菓子についての説明 (約30分）生菓子お茶 持ち物: ハンドタオル 着替え（希望者のみ） 参加条件: ６歳以上   重要:焼き上がりまで１ヶ月ほどかかります送料別となっております。当日現金にてお支払いをお願いします。 周辺は携帯電話の電波が入りずらくなっております。ご注意ください。駐車場はございません。公共の交通機関、もしくは有料駐車場をご利用ください。 アクセス: 須賀線北鎌倉駅下車、徒歩で約10分です。北鎌倉駅から鎌倉方面に向かって約7分。踏切の手前、浄智寺参道の脇道を奥に向かって約3分。ハイキングコース登り口の右手です。 キャンセルポリシー: 開催２日前までは全額返金させて頂きます。準備の関係上、それ以降の返金はございません。（天候不良など止むを得ずプログラム中止の場合は除く）その他キャンセルポリシーはPeatixの規定に則ります。プログラム開始72時間前までに最低催行人数（2人）に達しなかった場合、プログラムをキャンセルのご連絡をさせて頂きます。
