It is a part of a network including more than 80 centres in the world. Since its foundation, in 1989, the IIC acts as a lively go-between for Italy and Singapore and as a reference point for studying the Italian language, for getting scholarships for study in Italy, as well as for all information about the Italian culture and education. It has particularly active role in presenting cultural events either on its own either with other cultural institutions in Singapore in various fields like music, visual and performing arts. About L'arietta:Co-founded by soprano Akiko Otao and tenor Reuben Lai, L’Arietta is a music collective which aims to produce high quality musical drama (opera), and be a podium for multi-disciplinary collaborations amongst artists – musical, visual, physical – in Asia from its base in Singapore. The Collective stages an annual performance in the latter half of each year, bringing to life rare and contemporary operatic works, to broaden the repertoire and experience of the musical drama audience. L’Arietta also conducts several workshops throughout the year to help music students and enthusiasts delve deeper into opera and improve their performance skills.
