CoderDojo @ CodeAr.my-X
We are hosting CoderDojo for all the young aspiring developers out there in order to introduce them to the infinite possibilities of programming at an early age and to foster great developers for the future.
And best of all, it’s completely free! So come join us, and get a taste of what we mean by “infinite possibilities”.
What can you expect?
On 15th of August
This would be our first CoderDojo @ CodeArmy-X, which we start from scratch - where we aim to introduce youngsters to web development and guide them in developing their very own first website using HTML5 and CSS3.
On 22nd of August
Getting into the nitty gritty
Participants age from 10 to 17 years are permitted. Participants younger than 12 are best accompanied by a parent. The parents do not need to be present all the time, but stay in the vicinity so we can contact them.
If by any chance, the participant might not be able to make it to the event, you may report it to firstname.lastname@example.org, after which the ticket will be canceled.
We'll count on you to inform us if you cannot come, this lets us make room for those on the waiting list to take part.
We ask for all participants to enter an email address and telephone number of their parents/guardian during registration. In the unlikely scenario that sometimes comes up, CodeArmy-X will contact the parents or guardians.
The participant must have a laptop (portable computer). The coaches will ensure that all the necessary software will be installed.
CoderDojo is a global volunteer-led community of free programming clubs for young people between 10 and 17. The movement is a 'grassroots' organisation with individual clubs (called 'Dojos') acting independently. A charity called the 'CoderDojo Foundation' operates out of Dublin, Ireland and supports the various clubs by providing a central website and some other support services. Supporters of CoderDojo believe it is part of the solution to addressing the Global shortage of programmers by exposing young people to ICT at a young age. The movement has seen significant growth since its founding. The CoderDojo Foundation estimates 600 Dojos spread across 60 countries, with a growth rate of several new Dojos every week.
