He founded FARMILY 家和农 in year 2012 to address social problems in an aging society. As a keen nature observer since young, John has developed a great passion for growing greens in the most natural and sustainable way, based on the mimicry of the way nature works. He advocates strongly for environment and agriculture sustainability, he believes the future of agriculture is dependent on its ability to operate within environmental limits.Darren Leong has been an avid organic and hydroponics farmer for an enriching six years and still counting. Darren’s passion for agriculture farming was first ignited when he volunteered to assist with an organisation’s therapy garden for special needs kids. The program used nature as a tool for the special needs kids’ cognitive and social interaction development.Complemented with his love for urban greenery and keen interest in growing plants in hydroponics, Darren joined a hydroponics farm as an Assistant Farm Manager. He assisted with the setting up and development of the hydroponic greenhouse for growing vegetables. These vegetables were sold commercially to restaurants and eateries.Subsequently Darren’s work expanded to include landscaping works with the use of ornamental plants. In August 2018 he decided to take his interest and passion further in a partnership to start Farmily specialising in organic farming.--*All tickets sold are non-refundable*Event is not for profit, all tickets sold go to covering cost of fees and materials
