Shibamata is an area in Katsushika state, Tokyo, which is well known as the place where “Tora-san” was born in and was grown up, he’s one of the most famous and the traditional characters in the sort of stories that refer to “Tokyo Shitamachi” feelings. The TV show “Otoko-ha-Tsuraiyo” has a guinness records as the longest series of movies in the World. The movie had spanned 48 installment from 1969 to 1995, and had to stop because the leading star passed away. The movie presents the scene of Shitamachi in Tokyo- the lowland where common people, artisans and merchants used to live in Edo Period and still remains the kind of the atmosphere and the scene nowadays. The settings, architectural models and data of the movie are now preserved in the museum dedicated to “Tora-san”, the name of the leading character in the movie.
