Find out what really happened on the 2nd morning of Chinese New Year, February 19th, 4.45am at Sungei Gedong Camp.
Over Chinese New Year at an army camp, a Chinese soldier, Russell, shoots his Malay colleague Hakim, then kills himself. The play unfolds as a Rashomon-type investigation into the tragedy, and the two soldiers' families, colleagues and friends - as well as the country at large - must deal with the interracial prejudices and panic that come crawling out of its wake.
For the first time ever, three tertiary schools have come together in collaboration, spearheaded by theatre veteran Margaret Chan to showcase the award winning script; Charged. Written by Singaporean playwright, Chong Tze Chien, the script will be coming to life with a post-modern twist and touching on controversial issues such as racial tensions and politics.

Directed and performed by your very own Singapore Management University students, production designs from Republic Polytechnic students and the set built by Institute of Technical Education students, the production will be held at the Institute of Technical Education Central’s Black Box Theatre, on the 31st March and 1st April 2017. There will be two shows on each day, a matinee show at 3PM and an evening show at 8PM. Tickets will be priced at $10 only! Get them now as we have limited seating!
