On the eve of the staging of their play in Singapore, India Club is delighted to welcome Rajit Kapur, Shernaz Patel and director Rahul daCunha to a panel discussion about Theatre in contemporary India.
Rahul DaCunha also runs the famous Amul Girl ad campaign that is celebrating its 50th anniversary as one of India's favourite advertisement campaigns -- and bellwether of society. The Amul campaign will naturally feature as one of the topics of the evening's discussion.
Rajit Kapur is no stranger to Singapore: his two-man play with Naseeruddin Shah, "A Walk in the Woods" left an indelible imprint on viewers.
Shernaz Patel is one of the leading actresses on the Mumbai stage, and has several movie credits as well (including Black and Guzaarish). The trio of Rahul, Rajit and Shernaz run Rage Productions, Mumbai's leading English-theatre company.
We look forward to an evening discussing the lovable chaos that is urban India (and especially Mumbai) today, as well as the state of Indian theatre, and the past and future of the Amul Girl.
